New Testament Study Group
On the fourth Tuesday of the month, this study group meets to discuss the book “Brief
Introduction to the New Testament” by Bart Ehrman. Together we work through questions about who the authors of the were and their context, the parables and stories and how they reflect Jewish context, as well as some of the history about the early church and Paul’s (and the work attributed to him) letters . Its a fascinating history. Come be a part of this wonderful opportunity to learn and engage. For more information or to buy a book, contact Bill McClain firstname.lastname@example.org.
A new opportunity for conversation and raising questions around themes in religion, spirituality, and philosophy has recently commenced. Folks bring a sack lunch and meet up at Phelps park in the picnic shelter across from the fountain @ noon. Contact Bill McClain for details about when the group is meeting.
Advent and Lenten Devotional Studies
During the season of Advent (leading up to Christmas) and Lent (leading up to Easter) we have the opportunity to individually take up the practice of daily reading and prayer and then to communally gather and discuss what the daily readings have stirred up for us. Contact Pastor Laura for details.
Meeting twice a month in the summertime for dessert, our Summer Study is a great opportunity to gather for conversation about faith, theology, and practice. Stay tuned for details about next summer.
